Council Of Europe Defamation Guide

The Council of Europe (CoE), which monitors human rights in the region, has published a guide to defamation laws in the CoE's 46 member states. The guide outlines European standards on defamation and freedom of expression as laid down by the European Court of Human Rights, and includes statements and positions by international bodies such as the United Nations, the Organization of American States and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
