Hungary upgrades Government Portal and launches Government-wide network

The Hungarian Government announced on 18/11/2004 the launch of a new version of its portal and of the Electronic Government Backbone, a secure government-wide communication network. Speaking to the press on 18 November 2004, Mr Péter Kiss, Minister in charge of the Prime Minister’s Office, and Dr. Ferenc Baja, Parliamentary State Secretary in charge of electronic government services at the Office of the Prime Minister, presented the renewed Government Portal Magyarorszag.hu. The new version was developed around three primary aims: to facilitate public administration processes, to provide up-to-date information on Government and public administration, and to maintain an active dialogue among citizens as well as between citizens and administrations. http://europa.eu.int/ida/en/document/3600/194
