This paper by Richard Nantel looks at mobile e-Learning (sometimes called 'm-Learning'), a new way to learn using small, portable computers such as personal digital assistants (PDAs), handheld computers, two-way messaging pagers, Internet-enabled cell phones, as well as hybrid devices that combine two or more of these devices into one. While focusing on corporate use, the article also has utilities for educational institutions as well. Nantel presents the advantages and challenges of mobile e-Learning as well as a list of criteria to consider in deciding whether mobile e-Learning is right for your organization and then looks at the common devices, platforms and content available for mobile e-Learning.
