The Department of Personnel and Training of Government of India has launched a well-conceived training programme for developing 100 e-Government Champions in States and the Central Government departments in next 3 years, according to the recently set up National Institute of Smart Government (NISG), Hyderabad, India. The program will also provide an impetus to the implementation of the India’s ambitious National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). The total duration of the program will be for 14 weeks (full-time) out of which 5 weeks (Residential) will be spent at NISG Hyderabad; 1 week would be spent in visiting the international best practices in countries like UK / Singapore or Australia and the remaining 8 weeks would be spent by the candidate at his / her Head Quarters on Project Development, according to the NISG website. The methodology will involve conventional lecture method, case study analysis, problem solving, brain storming sessions, lab work, and role play and participant presentations.
