Although the geolocation technique, known as cell site analysis, can be used to determine the location or the movement of mobile phones, it may not be precise as to determining the mobile's exact location. When cell site analyses are introduced as incriminating evidence in court proceedings, courts are concerned with the evidentiary weigh rather than the admissibility factor of such evidence. This article illustrates on what evidence can be collected through cell site analysis and their admission in Ireland's courts.
