The Polish infrastructure company Infratel, based in Lodz, has begun promoting satellite internet services, reported Rpkom.pl. The company began selling sets (antenna plus modem) for PLN 1 with a 36-month contract. With contracts for shorter periods, prices are accordingly higher. It costs PLN 99 for a contract for two years and PLN 199 for a contract for one year. Normally such kits cost PLN 1,300. To be able to use satellite internet, customers also have to pay an installation fee (PLN 125), installation cost (PLN 389) and a monthly subscription. The monthly fee varies from PLN 122 (limit of transferred data 2.4 GB) to PLN 520 (12 GB). The speeds are 3.6 Mbps download and 384 Kbps upload. The Infratel promotion will last until 31 December or until the supply of sets is exhausted.
