Croatia's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Radimir Cacic, has written to the Croatian Agency for Electronic Communications (HAKOM), requesting that it reports, within 15 days, on concrete measures taken and planned to maximise investments in communications infrastructure, particularly in high speed internet (both fixed and mobile). According to local daily Vecernji List, Cacic furthermore requested answers to the specific problems that he learned from telecommunications operators, who complain that the regulatory framework impedes investment. For instance, he wants to know what will be the concrete measures to encourage investment in the construction and operation of networks (especially fibre) at speeds below 20 Mbps.
