10 Countries With World's Fastest Internet

Bangalore: Connectivity has so far turned from ‘wired’ to ‘wireless.’ In both the case, the last thing you wish to see would be a slow loading internet page.  Be it uploading a picture or having a video conference, everyone loves a lightning fast Internet connection. However, when most of the countries including India suffer from slow Internet connection, certain countries enjoy browsing at speeds as high as 1 Gbps, even at its outskirts.

Have a look at the top 10 countries with superfast internet, compiled by Bloomberg on the basis of the quarterly report prepared by Akamai technologies.

Google searches on phones in Romania up 5-fold since 2010

Internet searches made ​​through Google's search engine on phones in Romania represent about 15 percent of the total internet searches on mobiles, that is five times higher than in 2010 and double the percentage recorded at the middle of 2012, writes local paper Ziarul Financiar citing industry manager at Google Romania Doina Costache. The increase is the result of changes in user behaviour and the strong growth sales of smartphones on the local market.

Rocket Internet’s Foodpanda takes off in Hungary

Food delivery site Foodpanda seems to have scored a bit of a coup in Hungary. The Rocket Internet-owned service, which operates in 25 countries, is set to take over the service of food delivery site Ételvitel KFT.

Over 1.8 billion SMS messages sent in Slovenia: 2012

In the 4th quarter of 2012 almost 530 million SMS messages were sent in Slovenia, 92% of them by private users. The number of SMSs sent increased by 25% in comparison to the 4th quarter of 2011.  In the 4th quarter of 2012 over 10.8 million MMS messages were sent, 88% of them by private users. The number of multimedia messages sent increased by 14% in comparison to the 4th quarter of 2011. 

Google makes 'ungoogleable' unusable in Sweden

Google has put some pressure on Sweden's Language Council after it tried to add "ungoogleable" to its list of words, according to a report out of the country.
