A joint EU-Council of Europe project is organising an Internet Governance Forum in the Georgian capital Tbilisi, with a focus on human rights and the Internet, according to EU Neighbourhood Info.
The Internet Governance Forum, taking place on December 15-16, is an open multi-stakeholder platform, which aims at promoting dialogue between various players active in the field, and seeks to facilitate a common understanding of how to maximize Internet opportunities and address risks and challenges that arise.
The event includes thematic sessions dedicated to the issues of freedom of expression, privacy and data protection online, Internet governance landscape and cybercrime.
The event is organised within the framework of the joint CoE/EU Programme on “Protecting Internet Freedom through Legislation and Arrangements for Multi-stakeholder Dialogue”.
