The European Parliament, the Council and the Commission reached tonight a political agreement on the WiFi4EU initiative and its funding which supports installing free public Wi-Fi hotspots in local communities across the EU: in public squares, piazzas, parks, hospitals and other public spaces.

An ongoing, global debate has been swirling for years over whether the future of the internet — the greatest man-made technology of our lifetimes — should be determined by governments or the internet community itself. More succinctly, the central question has been whom do we trust deciding how the internet works and what content should be available: authoritarian governments of the world pursuing international regulation, or internet companies and users favoring a wide-open platform?

E-government is a strategic priority for Bulgaria, an irreversible process and the only way to achieve effectiveness, transparency, success in the fight against corruption, accountability and control, President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with the management of State e-Government Agency.
E-government is a comprehensive issue requiring serious expertise, active participation and commitment by each administration and institution in Bulgaria, Radev said, quoted by his press office. The President is ready to support every initiative that would facilitate and speed up digital transformation of Bulgaria’s administration in favour of the citizens and the business.
Talks during the meeting concerned e-healthcare, digitalisation in public procurement, and integration between Bulgarian and other EU e-governments.
