In May 1991, the town council of Fano (Italy) organised a week dedicated to children, which would change the city forever. Children and experts took part in conferences, exhibitions and meetings, all revolving around a common point: the idea of making children the focus of policies. On the last day, a Sunday, the streets were closed to traffic so the children could play.
“Smart City” is one of those buzz terms bandied around so much that it doesn’t even sound like a word anymore. Poorly defined, and even more poorly understood – it’s something well worth getting your head around. Why? Because they are here, rapidly growing in size and adoption and will absolutely be part of the cybersecurity industry as we head into the next decade.
