Amsterdam’s ethical sensing plan is a model for smart cities
The COVID-19 pandemic may finally be waning as increasing numbers of people get vaccinated, but in the meantime it’s pushing a lot of surveillance technologies to the forefront — whether for contact tracing or for counting the number of people in a building. We’re also learning more about how algorithms might be shaping the course of our lives, such as by way of automated resume scanning services or software that determines who gets (or doesn’t get) bail.
